Cold callers impersonating British Gas, EDF, Octopus, Ofgem or the government, offering fake energy refunds, grants or unusually cheap tariffs, to steal personal and banking information.
How to protect yourself
Contact your energy supplier using the number on your bill. Ofgem never contacts customers directly about tariffs or refunds.
